Making Runza's
I finally made the cabbage burgers I was going to make all week
I started with about 4 lbs lean ground beef and one onion and a head of cabbage
I thawed 5 loaves of frozen white bread dough in the oven with a pan of hot water under them
I cooked the hamburger and onion together with salt and pepper and a little garlic salt
I cooked the meat with water to minimize the splatter and to infuse the meat with the onion taste
I fully drained the meat and set it aside
I chopped the cabbage medium and cooked it in water with a little sugar
I drained it when it was fully cooked and added it to the meat mixture
I pulled the dough out and pinched off a small handful and stretched it out over my hand and spooned the mixture into the center , then folded over the dough to seal in the cabbage &meat and placed in greased baking pans till all the dough was used up .
They really taste like runza's
I wish you could taste them
